Across the Canadian church, a growing number of leaders are naming the same reality: the inherited models of church shaped by Canada’s history of colonialism no longer serve the gospel of Jesus Christ or the people of God. Yet new and life‑giving models of church and ministry are emerging. This gathering exists to nurture, strengthen, and expand that work.

Shared Way, Shared Witness (May 19-22, Villa St-Martin) is an intimate, participatory conference for those seeking to decolonize our understandings of church and to develop the forms of ministry needed to sustain what God is bringing forth in our midst. Together, we will explore new visions of church rooted in mutuality, collaboration, and shared leadership, and we will practice the skills required to lead and serve in these emerging communities.

Building on an expanding network in the Anglican Church of Canada and the United Church of Canada, this gathering is designed to deepen connections, share lived experience, and spread these ideas more widely into the life and DNA of our churches. It is a space for honest conversation, theological reflection, and practical skill‑building.

This gathering is for those who sense the urgency of the present ministry moment and the exhaustion of existing ways and who recognize that the church’s future depends on learning how to imagine and live differently together. Come ready to learn together, strengthen one another, and take part in shaping a faithful, collaborative church for this moment.
